Prevention is the Answer to Safety
A Safe and Preventive workplace culture assumes a combination of values, systems and practices that can provide a safe, dignified and healthy work environment. Summarizing, procedures that, in a spirit of permanent improvement, aim at avoiding accidents at work.
According to estimations made by the International Labor Organization (ILO), more than 313 million workers are injured each year resulting in serious injuries and absence from work.
To reduce occupational accidents and diseases, we should not take an economic approach to health and safety, overcoming human needs and social obligations. Health and safety are an integral part of corporate social and ethical responsibilities.
At Colquímica Adhesives we are responsible for the safety of all our employees and of all those who may be involved in our activity.
We maintain and improve, every day, our policies of Prevention, in order to avoid possible accidents and occupational diseases. We care about the well-being of our human resources and believe that it must be in tune with our values and strategy.
We are proud of promoting various training courses, with the aim of providing our people with important information, not only related to the prevention of accidents at work, but also in implementing a more sustainable life. Proof of this is our partnership with GERTAL, which allows us to develop, internally, various initiatives in the area of health and nutrition, promoting a healthier diet.
On the other hand, through the COLSAFETY project, we developed the "BE COL SAFE" day. The purpose of the initiative was to invest in Preventive action, but also in workers' quality of life, since both are interconnected. During the event, we made the workers aware of the importance of the "Near-Accident" report, involving all the Colquímica Adhesives, we were able to explain how this practice is important.
Prevention, whether from the perspective of the worker or the employer, is the best way to reduce the accident rates. The actions and measures to avoid incidents are directly dependent on the type of activity carried out, the work environment and the technologies and techniques used.
It is with commitment that we will be able to provide a safe and healthy environment to our employees, customers and suppliers, always bearing in mind that Prevention is the answer to Safety.
